Baptism is about belonging, being welcomed into the worldwide Church and the church community here.4. Living with God’s Promises

CONFIRMATION
What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is a significant milestone in the life of a Christian. It is an opportunity to affirm the promises you made at your baptism and to take another step in your commitment to following Jesus. During the confirmation service, you will stand before the Bishop, declare your faith in Jesus Christ, and receive prayer as the Bishop lays hands on you, asking God to strengthen you with the Holy Spirit for your life of faith. The next confirmation service will be at our 10am Gathering on 11th May.Confirmation is a public declaration that you want to live as a follower of Jesus. It’s a moment of saying, ‘Yes, this faith is mine,’ and stepping into the calling God has for your life with renewed confidence and purpose.
Why Be Confirmed?
There are many reasons people choose to be confirmed. Here are a few:1. Deepening Your Faith: Confirmation is an opportunity to grow in your relationship with God and deepen your understanding of what it means to follow Jesus. As part of the preparation, you’ll explore key aspects of the Christian faith and how they apply to your life.
2. A Fresh Start: For some, confirmation is a way to mark a new season in their faith journey, whether that’s returning to faith after time away or feeling called to take a more active role in their faith.
3. Belonging to the Church Family: Confirmation is a way of saying, ‘I belong here.’ It’s a recognition that you are part of God’s family and the local church community. At Telford Minster, we love walking alongside each other as we grow in faith and serve God together.
4. Empowered by the Holy Spirit: In the act of confirmation, we believe the Holy Spirit works powerfully to equip and empower you for the life God has called you to live.
